Pipefix hire, sell and install data loggers that will automatically read your water meter and send the data to your desktop. Most people call these loggers 'Smart Meters'.
The loggers we supply are IP65 waterproof, do not need an external power supply and contain a SIM card to send the data over the mobile phone network, which means that they can be installed virtually anywhere, even in remote locations.
Using the Data
Your data logger will measure all the water that flows through the meter. You can view this information as a graph or you can output the data to Excel. You will be able to observe the pattern of consumption on your site and your 'night line'.
The night line is very important - it shows you how much water is going through the system when everything is switched off - usually late at night, hence the name. In theory your nightline should be zero, so if your graph shows consumption when you don't expect it then it needs investigating.
Once you understand your patterns of consumption you can then set alarms on the logger to alert you via text or email when consumption rises or falls below expected levels.
