Separation of Services

Shared service pipe work

Separation of water servicesA large number of domestic properties in the UK still share their water pipe with their neighbours. These joint supply pipes are usually relatively small bore and the premises sharing the service experience sharp changes in flow and pressure when their neighbours are using the supply.

These shared services were not designed to provide the water required by modern showers and washing machines. Most people requiring better flow and water pressure, to be able to use their appliances properly, obtain a new dedicated connection to the mains water supply.

Additionally, shared service pipe work can create difficulties when maintenance and repair works have to be carried out.

We "separate" supply pipes for Councils, Housing Associations and our domestic customers. We provide a complete service; ensuring that the Water Company and affected householders are notified of the works, programming the activity and organising the temporary system shut downs under Notice.

The capping off of any redundant pipe work is conducted in accordance with Water Regulation requirements.

We have vast experience in separating supplies, including communal schemes providing individual supplies to hundreds of properties.
